28/03/18-Wedding night palaver 1

Image
WEDDING NIGHT PALAVER      It was the day after their wedding day and Timi, her newly wed husband had gone out to “tidy a few things up” so she was alone, which was good at this moment because she was scared. She couldn’t give a logical explanation as to why she was afraid. She hadn’t even told anyone of this fear she had harboured for so long.      She and Timi had known each other by accident; as a result of a weird text sent to the wrong number. He had wanted to send the text to his other number as a reminder for something he had to do. The reason he decided to do this instead of creating a reminder is the one thing he could never explain. So she got the text and replied and that’s when he realized his mistake but it was too late, that was already the beginning of their journey together. A few conversations later and they decided to meet. Timi always described it as love at first sight while she always laughed and said it was the way he talked and the things he s

27/03/2018- Nebuchadnezzar; a true story

Image
Nebuchadnezzar     I watched her as I rode past and suddenly everything seemed to be in slow motion as if coaxing me to see and not just look. In that split second in which I was prompted to pay close attention, I saw her for the first time; with flowers in her hair, she exuded an unimaginable aura, speaking so confidently and although I could not see the face of the one she conversed with, I was sure he must have been enchanted by her eloquence. She stood gesticulating with so much passion, that I thought of what it would be like to be her even just for a minute. To see the world through her eyes and think her thoughts. Simply thinking about it made my heart pound with an unusual excitement.  I was captivated by her hair; black ombred to brown, speckled with white that I reckon was associated with the hard times she went through, her skin was dark, darkened by the sun but her eyes, her eyes were different. No one could look at those eyes for long maybe for

Dear Public Diary- the person of my jealousy

Image
For I am a jealous God. He said it himself but maybe not in same the way I’ve felt it. Yes, there it is... I said it, I am a jealous person and it never used to be a problem. Jealousy was my fuel, the one thing that spurred me to action. The first time I remember being aware of this strange feeling that has come to be my companion was way back in Primary School. There was this girl in my class, I can’t remember her name but this one time my teacher pronounced her as the pupil with the best handwriting. I wasn’t happy about that. He was my favorite teacher and nobody was going to take my place as his best and favorite student and so I went into action. I made friends with her, became her seat partner and studied her handwriting. By the end of the session, we had a draw but I still had an edge, I was smarter and that made me the winner. Case closed. Although, we eventually became good friends.       The second time I was entirely engulfed by this emotion was in a teens camp I at

The Butterfly Effect

Image
Ever wondered why bad things happen to good people?      Why someone so "innocent" seems to pay for a crime they didn’t commit.       Well, Edward Lorenz describes this as the "sensitive dependence on initial conditions in which a small change in one state of a deterministic nonlinear system can result in large differences in a later state." I have a feeling…A very strong one, that you didn’t read all that .So I'm going to explain it in a language that normal people understand. Our friend Edward here is just trying to say albeit in scientific terms using magnanimous words that simply means that there is a repercussion for every action. Lorenz believed that destructive things such as tornadoes were reactions to subtle things like a simple and gentle flap of a butterfly's wings. Please don't start thinking about starting a "WAR AGAINST THE BUTTERFLY" campaign because although they seem to be the culprits here, they

Curiosity killed the cat 🐈

Image
The legend of curiosity, the legend of which no one but everyone knows the full story. But all they ever told us was “he killed the cat”. What they didn't tell us was that he got tired of cats, the felines got boring. He wanted some excitement, he needed it and what else could quench that hunger he felt… yeah you got it, US. 'Humans are higher animals, with ability to decipher right from wrong bla bla bla'. Let’s give these smart ones a little tickle, a little prod here and there and voila like the biblical serpent he crept up to us, to our necks, the slimy bastard; whispering questions.       “Baby that’s fire, it burns, it’ll hurt you!” Mommy says. Baby turns away and mommy leaves thinking she saved the day. But He laughs and whispers to little innocent baby. “See how it glows, so bright. Look at that colour, all blue and orange; so pretty. It couldn’t hurt you. How could something so enchanting do that?”. Baby turns, reaches out and touches it. It flows th
